WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN EVACUATION.
INSTRUCTIONS TO HOUSE HOLDERS AND OWNERS OF CARS.
A. PREPARATORY. (Things to be done now.)
i. Householders.
REMEMBER THAT IT IS EXCEEDINGLY UNLIKELY THAT THE MILITARY AUTHORITIES WILL ORDER AN EMERGENCY EVACUATION BUT IT IS FOR US T 0 BE PREPARED.
In an Emergency Evacuation you will only be allowed to take food and clothing with you.
If you have your own car or have arranged to make up a party in a friend's car see that a box of food-stuffs sufficient for the party for two days is put away in a handy place. The following list is suitable
1 tin fish; 1 tin meat: 2 tins fruit: 1 small pkt. "granose" biscuit:
1 jar peanut butter: 1 pkt. cheese: 2 pkts. Whole meal biscuits;
1 jar "marmite"; 1 tin soup: 1 lb. tea, cocoa or coffee: 1 tin milk,
1 lb. sugar. Dates. Salt. Pepper. Etc.
You Would add to these what bread, scones etc. Might be on hand at the time of evacuation.
If you have a baby in the house remember always to beep an extra supply of what special foods it needs on hand.
Remember cups, plates, Billycan, knives, spoons, forks. A small box Should he kept in the garage for packing these things. Put by glucose barley sugar, chocolate, matches, candles, toilet paper,
Each individual will be permitted to take one suitcase or container of clothing as much as he can wear with comfort and three blankets or rugs.
LABEL, CLEARLY AND SECURELY' YOUR SUIT CASE AND YOUR BUNDLE OF RUGS,
A haversack is better than a suitcase if you have one.
If you would like to send blankets Etc. ahead arrangements may be made at

B. When Evacuation is ordered
If you have your own car pick up your load. See that the food box, First Aid Outfit, box of cups, plates etc. and extra water are aboard. See that you have plenty of petrol.
REPORT A T YOUR AREA DES PATCHING CENTRE.
If you cannot, carry all the suitcases, leave the extra load with the 'Warden PROPERLY LABEL.
